I was reading a book authored by one of my residents, when I came upon this profound quote: "At the back of all tranquility is true acceptance." (Eleanor Roosevelt) This used by a lady who is a self proclaimed humanist, who believes in fate, and doesn't believe in praying for herself--for Almighty Intervention, despite her deteriorating health. In her own words: "I do think the scrapes I find myself in are my own doing and are because of my own choices, plus fate. And it is up to me to get myself out of them, or accept them." I'm thankful to say that I believe in a God who can be the meaning of true acceptance, therefore allowing me to know the meaning of real tranquility.
